Dermal Fillers, made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), are the most popular volume enhancing treatments and are often used to reduce facial lines and to restore plumpness and volume to the lips and face, defining the shape of your face. Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally in our body, it is responsible for hydrating, plumping and increasing the skins elasticity.

ReNew Appearance Medicine uses only the highest quality temporary fillers, which are renowned for their superior standards.

We only allow qualified and certified Nurses to inject fillers.

The Dermal Fillers Treatment

When you think of Dermal Fillers do you think of big lips and overfilled, puffy faces?

We can assure you, that here at Renew this is definitely not the look we are going for!

Strategically placed filler can make you look refreshed and more youthful. Our aim here at Renew is that you should look like the best version of yourself, NOT change your appearance.

Prior to any filler treatment, we always invite our clients in for a free consultation with our Registered Nurse to ensure we find the best treatment to achieve results suitable for you.

lips
Lip Augmentation Fillers
For those who are unhappy with the shape or size of their lips, temporary Dermal Fillers can provide an effective volume enhancing solution that keeps them feeling soft and natural. A common complaint by many of our patients is that they dislike how thin their lips look. Instead of lining the lips and creating a distorted result, we enhance your lips’ natural pattern to give them an overall pleasing and full appearance. There are a range of different fillers to achieve a range of different aesthetic looks. Fine fillers can be used for definition, hydration and lip lines and thicker fillers to create more volume in lips. Not one size fits all and you can be rest assured that there will be no overfilled lips here at Renew.

Mid Face Fillers
Cheek Fillers have become super popular over the last few years. From the younger patient who wants a little more of the ‘top model’ cheekbone appearance to the older patient who has lost volume and looking a little ‘flat’ Dermal Fillers can be added to this area to re define the face. As we age, we all know that everything heads south. This also happens with our mid face region. As we loose fat, collagen and reabsorb bone, our skin has no where to go but down as the scaffolding has depleted. This generally gives us a heavier lower face and flat midface. Dermal Fillers can be used here to give us back that youthful appearance of fuller/higher cheeks. Dermal fillers help reflect the light and help fill out areas or create peaks instead of valleys which create shadows on our face. Shadows can be ageing. Our Registered Nurse can help advise you if this treatment would be beneficial for you.

Lower Face Fillers
For those that are starting to see the effects of drooping skin around the mouth and possibly the appearance of jowls or marionette lines, lower face filler is perfect to give your skin that re-lift you need to look fresher and more youthful. Naso-labial folds (the crease from the nose to the corner of the mouth) can also be of concern to some patients. Dermal filler is also great to help smooth out these areas to make less noticeable while still looking natural and fresh. Facial balancing in super important and redistributing our volume can be done with Dermal Fillers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the treatment involve?
Small amounts of dermal filler are injected directly into the skin using an ultra fine needle. The gel helps to plump up the skin, thereby smoothing out lines and wrinkles. If the lips or facial contours are being treated, the filler adds volume, restores shape and gives a fuller appearance. Our policy is 'less is more' so we will always aim to give you a natural, subtle look.
Do the injections hurt?
Thanks to an integrated local anaesthetic, lidocaine, you can have a more comfortable treatment experience. Dermal fillers also come with special needles for easy skin penetration. You and your clinician may decide whether additional pain relief is needed.
How long does the treatment take?
Dermal Filler appointments are scheduled for 1hr. Depending on the area treated a topical numbing cream will be used before the treatment is conducted. A variety of needle and cannula are used here at Renew.
Do I need to take time off work after a treatment?
No, you do not need to take time off work after a treatment but you could have some swelling and bruising post treatment. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee that you will not bruise after a treatment, however we do our best to minimise the risks of it happening. If numbing cream has been used you may be numb for 1-2 hrs post treatment. Areas of treatment can be tender afterwards.
How soon will I see results?
Results of dermal fillers are instant, however there is generally some swelling involved and they can take 2-3 weeks to settle fully.
How long will the results last
Here at Renew we have a range of dermal fillers to choose from depending on what we are trying to achieve. Generally, lip fillers last around 6-12 months and cheeks/jawlines etc last around 12-24mths. At any point you can build on dermal fillers to achieve a fuller, stronger look. If you decide not to continue with dermal fillers the hyaluronic gel will biodegrade in the skin and simply disappear.
Are there any side effects?
There will be some redness, tenderness and swelling around the treated area immediately after the injection. You might also feel an itching sensation. All side effects should subside after a couple of hours The most common side effects include treatment site reactions such as swelling, bruising, redness, pain, and tenderness. These side effects generally disappear within one week after injection. Other potential side effects can occur with dermal filler injections. You should discuss the potential treatment risks with your health care professional.
Who should not have a dermal filler treatment?
Patients with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid fillers or amide local anaesthetics should not undergo treatment. Nor should patients with porphyria, bleeding disorders, or active skin disease such as inflammation, infection or tumours in or near the area to be treated. Discuss contraindications, warnings and precautions with your health care professional before dermal filler treatment. Patients with auto immune conditions may also excluded from having dermal filler treatments. Dermal fillers can not be injected within 2 weeks of ANY dental work or Covid-19 vaccines.
Can I have a dermal filler treatment if I am pregnant?
This product has not been tested in pregnant or breast feeding women.
What does it cost?
Dermal Filler at Renew starts in price at $399 per 0.5ml, $699 for 1ml and $1200 for 2mls. Depending on what we are trying to achieve will depend on how much filler will be needed. Our Registered Nurse will do her best to give an accurate quote as to the price of your intended treatment. Fillers can be built on, so you can add more as you need and as budget allows. As with all our treatments we accept Debit, Credit Card, Laybuy and Genoapay.
What precautions should my health care professional advise me about?
There are several important precautions to discuss with your health care professional to ensure satisfactory results and avoid any complications. Discuss with your health care professional the following: If you are taking immunosuppressive medications, since use of these medications may increase your risk of infection. If you are taking aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or any other medication that affects bleeding. As with any injection procedure, using these medications may increase your risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. If a laser treatment, chemical peel or other dermatological procedures are considered before or after the dermal filler treatment. There is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the treatment site. If you have a history of excessive scarring or any pigmentation disorders. Scarring and pigmentation changes may occur with hyaluronic acid fillers in general.
How to prepare for your Dermal Filler treatment?
Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin, Fish oils, Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment.
